Youth Writing Contest in Prose or Poetry

Sponsored by the Siloam Springs Writer’s Guild

A theme or topic will be announced in the guild Gazette before each contest.

Quarterly Youth Writing Contests: March, June, September, and December.

Contest Age Categories:

6-9

10-13

14-17

Prizes for Winning Entries in each Category:

Excellent – $7.00

Very Good – $5.00

Good – $3.00

Youth membership costs $15.00 for the entire year.

CONTEST RULES:

You may write prose or poetry. (Prose simply means writing that is not poetry.)

Please use Times New Roman font.

Prose may be up to 750 words, and double-spaced.

Poetry should be single-spaced.

Do not put your name on any page of your contest entry.

Include a cover page with the following information:

 Your title

The first two lines of your entry

Your name

Age

Address

Phone number

Email address

Attach your entry in one document by the 15th of the month.
Send entries to the Guild email: siloamwriters@gmail.com with the subject line: Youth Contest.

(Entries are judged in the month of the contest and awarded in the following month.
