Meetings
The Siloam Springs Writers Guild meets on the second Monday of every month. Meetings are currently held in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, AR. (parking on lower/west side of building) Our meetings run from 5:30 til about 6:45 with a short business meeting afterwards.
Membership is not required to attend a meeting, so come on over and check it out.
A typical meeting starts off with the pledge of allegiance, the reading of our motto, and a short prayer. For some months we will have speakers come in and share their wisdom and experience with us. For other months, we take turns sharing some of our writings. Writings must adhere to the guild’s motto. People are welcome to stay up front and ask for critique. Participation is not mandatory, but it is a fun experience to both share your writings as well as listen to others.
Our October meeting is a special one where we will announce the winners of the Roy Chesney Poetry Contest. (see Events page) At our December meeting, members and guests can share something they’ve written or a short song or written work about Christmas.
